Here are a few things we look at when working on these designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"why-add-a-bottle-opener-to-a-challenge-coin\" class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Benefits of Adding a Bottle Opener to a Challenge Coin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding a bottle opener gives a challenge coin something it normally doesn\u2019t have: a reason to be used, not just displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"give-a-collectible-one-more-use\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Give a Collectible One More Use<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lot of challenge coins eventually end up in a display case, on a desk, or tucked into a collection. The opener doesn\u2019t take over the artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s usually the better approach: get the design right first, then make the function feel like it belongs there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"for-giveaways-being-useful-matters\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:22px\">For Giveaways, Being Useful Matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the coin is being handed out as a company gift, event giveaway, or branded item, usefulness matters even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppai.org\/media-hub\/the-things-we-dont-throw-away\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ppai.org\/media-hub\/the-things-we-dont-throw-away\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PPAI\u2019s 2026 consumer research<\/a> on branded merchandise, 55.2% of respondents said the main reason they keep a promotional product is because it\u2019s useful in everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study wasn\u2019t specifically about challenge coins, but the takeaway is pretty straightforward: if a keepsake also does something useful, people have one more reason to hang onto it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A standard anniversary coin can work perfectly well.
